Τα ιδανικά απαιτούν θυσίες. Όταν σου επιβάλλονται τα ιδανικά άλλων η θυσία γίνεσαι εσύ. Το ακατέργαστο πριν ακόμα προλάβει να γνωρίσει τον εαυτό του, λαξεύεται από την κοινωνία. Η αποδοχή κρατάει τώρα τα ηνία της ελευθερίας. Ο ακρωτηριασμός που ξεκινάει από τα άκρα και συνεχίζει στο πνεύμα μετατρέπει την γυναίκα σ’ ένα περιποιημένο προσποιητό πρότυπο καλαισθησίας. Το «Perfection, the ideal woman in 21 cm» αναφέρεται στην γυναικεία ταυτότητα, σε μια κατάσταση που μεταπλάθει την γνησιότητα σε οδυνηρή και υποτιθέμενη τελειότητα. Ο μύθος του Προκρούστη, ένα έθιμο της Κίνας με επίκτητα παραμορφωμένα πόδια γυναικών και το παραμύθι της Σταχτοπούτας των αδερφών Γκριμ έχουν ενοποιητικό στοιχείο την βάναυση αλλοίωση, κινητήρια βάση για αυτή την εγκατάσταση.

Ιdeals require sacrifices. When the ideals of others are imposed on you, you become the sacrifice. The unwrought, before it even manages to get to know itself, is carved by society. Acceptance now holds the reins of freedom. The amputation that starts from the edges and continues in the spirit turns the woman into a well-groomed model of elegance. “Perfection, the ideal woman in 21 cm” refers to the female identity, in a condition that transforms authenticity into painful and supposed perfection. The myth of Procrustes, a Chinese custom with acquired deformed female legs, and the Cinderella tale of the Grimm Brothers have a unifying element of brutal alteration, the driving force behind this installation.
